The Black Rock Amateur Radio Association (BRARA) is a Nevada non-profit dedicated to providing public service/public safety radio communications resources for the Black Rock desert. We also sponsor education and outreach programs like the recent "Ham Cram" in the Black Rock desert over the July 4th weekend.
BRARA was founded by people like you -- ham operators who love the Black Rock desert. Most of us are Burners, many of us are Rangers. Together we envision a Black Rock desert with a great communications system ... one being used by lots of hams like you!
We'd love it if you joined us by becoming a Supporting Member! Supporting Membership is $20 a year, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds (nor would we object if you wanted to donate a little bit more!). Joining is simple -- just click on of one of the "Donation" buttons on the right. You don't even need a paypal account!
For those of you who are licensed Amateur Radio operators, we'll provide you with your very own phone patch access code, allowing you to make phone calls on our UHF repeater from the deep playa!
Please take a moment to choose a donation amount and then click one of the buttons on the right to join us. We're counting on your support!
Sincerely,
"Safety" Phil Lapsley, N6TCT
President
P.S., We're pleased to report that -- more than six months ago! -- we submitted our paperwork to the IRS to establish our status as a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization. We're less pleased to report that the IRS is taking forever to process it. We will let you know as we receive news about the status of our application.
